School crossing patrols are located near schools to help people safely cross the road in the morning and afternoon during term time.

If you think a road needs a school crossing patrol you can ask us to carry out a survey to see if it meets the national guidelines. Email roadsafety@plymouth.gov.uk and let us know the road that's hard to cross or fill in a new school crossing patrol request.

Working as a school crossing patrol

If you'd like to work as a school crossing patrol please email roadsafety@plymouth.gov.uk for more information or look at our current vacancies. You'll get paid £7.04 an hour for about five hours a week.

We'll provide your uniform, training and support and you don't need any qualifications.
