Fireworks and explosives

If you store fireworks that contain explosives you must have a licence.

If you want to store more than 2000kgs of explosives you should apply to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for a licence. Further information about licensing can be found on the Health and Safety Executive website.

  • You must not to sell fireworks to any person under18 (always ask for ID). Guidance about underage prevention strategies and Challenge 25 are available on our under age sales page.
